Philosophy

If we are what we repeatedly do, this is who I repeatedly am.  I believe through framing problems, understanding perspectives of others, comprehending processes, and organizing complexity we can create solutions that minimize difficulties.

My professional work in business, community planning, and hydrology has reinforced the principles of holistic science and critical thinking I built in school.  Everything is connected, however, it is up to us to learn how these interconnections shape us, otherwise we are shaped by them.

I believe in sportsmanship founded on a competitive framework that challenges us to become better people—grounded in tactical intelligence, discipline, equity, integrity, hard work, and respect for a level playing field that invites challenge and growth through and by others.

Challenges—whether personal or professional—are opportunities for growth.

These principles extend far beyond sport. They shape how we show up in our families, relationships, business, work, and even politics.

My goal is simple: to keep growing—personally and professionally—while being of service to others at the highest level I can.

I learn more from being wrong, than being right.

Make mistakes fast. Own them. Learn. Eliminate costly repetition.
